Have you ever found yourself under a pile of letters from public administration offices? Have you ever had to fill out a form that’s essential for your business, but all the instructions were in German? Have you ever been on the phone with an admin office, but the case worker didn’t speak any English? You are not alone!

In this session, Ina will help you with your various public administration tasks and guide you through the jungle of German bureaucracy.

Ina specialises in initial relocations to Berlin, as well as dealings with the Finanzamt (tax office), residency permits, and long-term housing solutions, among many other public admin tasks. German bureaucracy is daunting, but you don’t have to do it on your own.

In this session, Ina can help you with the following:

  • Translate mail you have received from various public admin offices or serviceproviders
  • Help you prepare your apartment application package
  • Guide you through the process of registering your company, or registering as a freelancer
  • Help you fill out various forms, such as base income for freelancers, or residency permit
  • Make phone calls on your behalf, where German language skills are required
  • Help you understand various documents
  • ...and many other tasks

About Office Hour Holder:

Ina Bozhilova is an expat who moved to Berlin in 2007. Upon graduating high school, she studied sociology at the University of Potsdam. She discovered her love for helping people with their bureaucratic issues through friends who asked her to translate correspondence and help them deal with complicated administrative issues. Ina quickly realised that expats in Berlin do not have it easy, and often end up feeling rejected by the city, due to the colossal amount of bureaucratic work that needs to be done, and the system’s unyielding structures. This made her determined to help those in need, so that they wouldn’t have to struggle through the bureaucratic jungle, as she did.
Armed with the theoretical knowledge of German bureaucracy, obtained through her studies, alongside with experiences gathered through friends, Ina started helping out expats back in2016. She quickly acquired a small customer base. People were drawn to her determination, compassion, and ability to resolve various administrative crises.
