On our top floor of betahaus l Neukölln, both members and guests are invited to go on a journey. A journey of food, distant places and one incredible story.

THE STORY - is about one tree planter who we met on our adventures - James. James is on a mission to re-wild the planet, one tree at a time. Since meeting him on the streets of India he has succeeded in planting 4 million of them - a forest roughly the size of Manhattan. The project is called Gone West.

THE IMPACT - is to offset the monthly carbon footprint of each attending individual. This calculation will be made by Gone West and the trees will be planted in Portugal with the Wildlings this November to help recover from the forest fires there. A certificate of reforestation will also be granted to betahaus for the total impact made.

THE FOOD - The dinner will be served in 4 unique recipes, all vegan and vegetarian, from far and distant places of the world, spanning from India to Berlin, following our story and the one of James, who went from living in his van to operating one of the largest tree planting projects in Europe (and still living in his van sometimes).

THE SHOW - There will be short film screenings throughout the evening, connecting people to the food on their plate and the mission of the night- to plant as many TREES as we can by eating great food and drinking delicious cocktails. All spiced up with some groovy music, Anne Regler- vinyl grooves from the underground, will keep the good spirit rolling.

THE COST - 12 Euro per betahaus member / 15 Euro guest. Includes a limitless buffet and one drink. The rest of the drinks will be provided a la carte.

Sol Food was found in Singapore in 2016. Officially a media production house that explores the ancient connection between food and storytelling in all its degrees. In reality a cook and a filmmaker traveling by land from Italy to Singapore and by tuk tuk from India to Berlin, doing whatever it takes to bring you the most adventurous cookbook ever by the method of trial and error till success.

ABOUT THE COLLABORATORS
Querfeld is generously providing us with the ingredients for this dinner with their delicious, organic and UGLY fruits and vegetables. As you know fruits and vegetables are sorted out at harvest, when they do not meet the visual expectations of the trade. But these guys rescue the ugly ones and now we will turn them into beautiful dishes.

Local Berlin Micro greens from Britzer Kräuter  grown on organic hemp pads will be there to spice up our food, make a green wall jungle in our room and hopefully give a impulse to all of us to start planting gardens on our window sills.

ABOUT THE SOUND
Anne Regler takes you on a journey through sound and history. Funk, beats from all over the world and definitely hip hop in all its variations. There is always a surprise and yes sometimes she plays hits because she doesn´t dj for DJ´s, she dj´s for the people.
